The Heart Truth's Red Dress
Have an eye for fashion? Interested in learning about heart health? Join us for The Heart Truth's Red Dress exhibit which opens October 1, 2010 at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. The Heart Truth® is a national awareness campaign whose mission is to bring awareness of the risks of heart disease to women while promoting positive health and wellness habits. The exhibit, which runs through August 14, 2011, will feature numerous red dresses worn by celebrities, entertainers, athletes, and models, as well first ladies' red dresses on loan from the 13 presidential libraries. The exhibit will also include information pertaining to heart related issues as well as interactive educational activities such as a mock emergency room complete with a mannequin on which visitors can practice life saving techniques. Message from President Bush
Barbara and I feel very fortunate for the friends and supporters who have made the George Bush Presidential Library Center a reality. In just a few years, it has implemented a wide array of cultural, academic, and policy programs that have gained national attention. We spend considerable time at the Library Center, participating in programs and conferences, as well as teaching, writing, and interacting with the students and faculty. We firmly believe that the school and various programs that the Center sponsors have created a unique learning experience that gives an added dimension to the students, preparing them for the challenges that the new century holds.
