For the tenth year, the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum will host the College Station Lions Club's annual Fourth of July Celebration, "I Love America." The Museum will be open from 9:30 am until 8:30 pm, and admission will be free. The concession stands, live entertainment, and games for the children will begin at 5:30 p.m. Historical characters will mingle with the crowd, and the evening will culminate in a dazzling fireworks display and concert by the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets, and blankets. Handicapped parking will be available at the Library. Free public parking will be available in the West Campus parking garage with free, continuous shuttle service beginning at 4:30 pm. For more information, visit http://bushlibrary.tamu.edu. You won't want to miss out on the 49th year of this community event!
Barbara and I feel very fortunate for the friends and supporters who have made the George Bush Presidential Library Center a reality. In just a few years, it has implemented a wide array of cultural, academic, and policy programs that have gained national attention. We spend considerable time at the Library Center, participating in programs and conferences, as well as teaching, writing, and interacting with the students and faculty. We firmly believe that the school and various programs that the Center sponsors have created a unique learning experience that gives an added dimension to the students, preparing them for the challenges that the new century holds.
The George Bush Presidential Library Foundation hosts a number of intriguing lecture series and special events. We recognize, however, that some of our supporters are unable to attend, prompting us to offer live web streaming, meaning that the public is able to watch each of our events via the Internet while the actual event is taking place. We are excited to be able to provide this service to those who are interested in experiencing all that the Foundation has to offer, but who are unable to do so in person.
If you missed some of our recent events, it's not too late. Many of the Bush Foundation's past programs can be viewed in the Video Archives section, and we will continue to enlarge the collection to include many more past lectures as well as future speeches. Many of these videos are also downloadable at iTunes U.
