Bank of America Program on Volunteerism
Bank of America endowed its Program on Volunteerism in an effort to educate individuals and corporations on the importance of volunteer activities in today's modern society. Through civic responsibility and community service Americans strengthen our social fabric, our participatory form of government, and our free market economy. Additionally, this dedication to volunteerism has enabled our nation to grow as a society and as an international leader.
Bank of America believes that it is vital for corporate America to be at the forefront of this effort through what it calls "corporate citizenship." By sharing their human and material resources, major corporations and small businesses alike are able to champion innumerable volunteer efforts.
It is important for American volunteerism to remain a beacon for the world for it epitomizes our strong social and economic bonds, the humanitarianism of our democratic lifestyle, and our commitment to giving so that others may succeed.
