Dr. Roman Popadiuk, Executive Director
On January 1, 1999 Dr. Roman Popadiuk assumed the duties of Executive Director of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation. Dr. Popadiuk served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Press Secretary for Foreign Affairs under President Bush. He served as the first U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine in 1992-1993. Dr. Popadiuk, a retired member of the career Senior Foreign Service, has received a number of awards, including the State Department's Superior Honor Award and the Meritorious Honor Award. He holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Dr. Popadiuk is married to the former Judith Ann Fedkiw and they have four children; Gregory, Matthew, Catherine, and Mary.
Nancy Newman, Assistant to the Director
Born in Dallas, Nancy graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Her work experience includes three years at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum as Volunteer and Visitor Services Coordinator. Nancy’s professional background also includes positions in human resources and office management.
Erin Pounders, Assistant to the Director
Erin is a native of Angleton, Texas, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management from Texas A&M University where she was a member of the Corps of Cadets and the Aggie Band. Erin's duties include program development, event management, and oversight of the Foundation publications and website. She has worked with Hospice Brazos Valley and Operation Render Comfort, an organization devoted to military grief and bereavement support.
Amanda Byrd, Senior Staff Accountant
Amanda Byrd joined the Foundation in November of 2006 and oversees the financial and accounting functions of the office. Amanda grew up in Goliad, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University with both her Bachelor of Business Administration and Master’s of Science degrees in Accounting. She was previously employed by KPMG LLP in San Antonio and relocated to College Station with her husband, David, and son, Kyle.
Wynona Fisher, Administrative Coordinator
Wynona joined the foundation staff just prior to groundbreaking activities for the Library Center. Wynona handles scheduling for the executive director, advisory council, and directors, as well as acting as liaison to other departments.
