Tim Russert
Tim Russert is the Managing Editor and Moderator of Meet the Press and political analyst for NBC Nightly News and the Today Program. He anchors The Tim Russert Show and is a contributing anchor for MSNBC. He also serves as senior vice president and Washington bureau chief of NBC News.

Russert took over the helm of Meet the Press in December 1991. Since then, MTP has become the most watched Sunday morning interview program in America and the most quoted news program in the world. His reporting has received the highest honors in journalism including The Joan S. Barone Award, the Annenberg Center's Walter Cronkite Award, and the Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence in Television Journalism.

Mr. Russert joined NBC News in 1984. He supervised the live broadcasts of the Today program from Rome, negotiating and arranging an appearance by Pope John Paul II, a first for American television. Russert led NBC News weeklong broadcasts from South America, Australia and China.

Mr. Russert is a trustee of the Freedom Forum's Newseum and a member of the board of directors of the Greater Washington Boys and Girls Club and America's Promise – The Alliance for Youth.

Born in Buffalo, New York, Mr. Russert is a graduate of John Carroll University and with honors from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Before joining NC News, Russert served as counselor in the New York Governor's office and as special counsel in the United States Senate. He is admitted to the bar in New York and the District of Columbia.


Elaine L. Chao
As the 24th U.S. Secretary of Labor, Elaine L. Chao is dedicated to promoting pathways to economic freedom for individuals and families working to achieve the American dream. As part of the President's economic development team, her priorities include promoting job growth, protecting Americans' retirement security and ensuring a safe environment for the nation's workers. A veteran of both the public and private sectors, she previously served as Director of the Peace Corps, Deputy Secretary of Transportation, Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission. and President and CEO of the United Way of America. She brings a wealth of business experience to all these posts, having worked as Vice President of Syndications at BankAmerica Capital Markets Group and a banker with Citicorp. Secretary Chao holds a BS degree in economics from Mount Holyoke College and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
