Lesson Plans

The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, in partnership with the City of Bryan and Bryan ISD, has developed lesson plans for educators using primary source materials from the library’s archives. These purposeful, interactive lessons are tied to Texas and national curriculum standards in social studies, American history, government and science. This connection between classrooms and the Bush Library and Museum’s primary sources encourages critical thinking skills and reinforces vocabulary terms, concepts and relevant curriculum materials.

Workshops and Professional Development

The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum annually hosts a number of workshops and other professional development opportunities for educators. Workshop topics include how to use primary sources and other education tools available for educators through the Bush Library and Museum, and guided museum tours help educators plan field trips and other on-site learning opportunities.
